LASIK refers to the customized LASIK provides
using the WaveScan Wavefront System in conjunction
with the STAR S4 Excimer Laser System.
Your vision is unique - as personal as your fingerprint
or your DNA. The CustomVue procedure provides
a unique correction for each individual. Each
treatment is customized to the unique characteristics
of the individual's eyes. WaveScan technology
captures the unique imperfections in each individual's
vision creating a special map of your vision called
a wavefront. Your wavefront is uniquely you, no
two are alike. This wavefront provides 25 times
more precision than non-wavefront methods. WaveScan
transfers treatment instructions to the laser,
providing a new level of precision and accuracy.
The FDA clinical study results were remarkable.
At one year after the VISX CustomVue procedure*:
- 100% of the clinical study participants could
pass a driving test without glasses or contacts
- 98% of the clinical study participants could
see 20/20 or better without glasses or contacts
- 70% of the clinical study participants could
see 20/16 or better without glasses or contacts
Four times as many clinical study participants
