See Glaucoma

In some cases, your surgeon may feel that an artificial valve implanted onto the wall of your eye might provide the best control of your glaucoma. A valve can be attached to the wall of the eye and a tube goes through the wall into the eye. When the pressure in the eye reaches a certain level, the valve opens and fluid is allowed to drain through the tube into the device attached onto the wall of the eye. Once the pressure reaches an acceptable level, the valve closes and fluid is no longer drained from the eye. Sugarland Eye & Laser Center is excited to offer this surgical option to patients with difficult to control glaucoma.
